Taipei National University of the Arts Library

Since its establishment in 1982, the Taipei National University of the Arts has been striving to be the world's leading university for the arts and has established a grand and elegant Library in the most eye-catching location on campus, totaling 7 floors. Excluding the 1st and 2nd floors to serve as the University's teaching and performing space, the Library covers five floors. The Library building has become a landmark that can be clearly seen from the Taipei Basin looking toward mountains and forests in Beitou.

With our founder's goal in mind, the TNUA Library is striving to become the world's leading art library. The Library houses a diverse collection of art books, journals, audio-visual and e-materials, and art artifacts. The scope of art knowledge covers the fields of fine arts, music, dance, theater, film, new media, cultural assets, and humanities and social sciences. Looking back, we have aggressively collected rare and precious materials from the past, and looking forward, we will continue to collect progressive and avant-garde art ideas.

TNUA being a leading art center, we often receive donations of rare books from domestic and foreign artists and art readers, which strengthens the depth and historical value of our collection. In addition, as we have a large number of talented artists, the library continues to collect the art performance archives of our faculty, students, staff, and alumni, in order to serve as the first-hand materials for future research, which not only showcases TNUA's achievements in art education, but also preserves important art knowledge and assets for the society.

TNUA Library covers a total of 5 floors, with open shelves for easy search and borrowing, quiet and comfortable reading spaces and chairs, and advanced personalized audio-visual facilities, creating a sound arts learning environment. The building has a great view, closely overlooking the Guandu Plain, distantly looking at the Taipei Basin, and even farther to the long range of mountains. The Gallery of TNUA History is on the top floor, where you can look far and wide, while admiring the past and heralding the future.
